A TELETUBBIES PLAYDATE

If your toddler is anything like mine, then Teletubbies are high on their priorities. I'm sure if Patrick had his way and there was an opportunity to trade me or anyone else in our immediate family in for a tubbie, we'd be gone quicker than you can say 'Eh-oh'. And even though we're finally going full steam ahead into the British summertime, the weather is still pretty unreliable so we're constantly swapping between sandals and welly boots, never knowing from one day to the next what our plans can be, because it's so hit and miss. So when caught sight of the new Teletubbies Playdate packs, we were certain they'd be a hit in our household and we were not wrong.

What's a Tubby Playdate Pack?
I'll be honest in saying I'd never heard of a playdate pack before, I'm not sure if they're a new thing on the block but they're incredibly convenient and it's safe to say I'm a convert. It stops you spending hours on unnecessary detail as everything you need is in one simple file. The Teletubbies play date pack is a downloadable pack for parents, to help them organise easy and fun playdates at home with their toddlers. It's genius, especially for those last minute occasions when the rain calls off plans, there's no need to run out to the shops for anything because with a simple few clicks you can have the whole pack in your hands. The pack has really thought of everything though, and if you are planning in advance it includes invites to send out, and top tips on just how to make your play date extra special, especially if you haven't thrown one before. One of my favourite tips was about potty training and how to be mindful if you're inviting a child of toilet training age, it included questions to ask their parents so you can ensure their routine is the same as it would be at home. As a parent if I was sending my child off for a play date and someone asked me those things, I'd have every faith my child was in good hands as it comes across so thoughtful and attentive. They really have thought of absolutely everything.

What's inside?
In our play date pack we had a huge variety of things to do, from cutting and sticking, to colouring in and crafts. It kept us busy for hours and there was enough for the boys to do whilst I did some of the trickier pieces like cutting bunting and hats out. Everything of course is Teletubby branded and themed so your little ones will be seeing their favourite characters along the way, for us this is LaLa and I don't think I went a space of 60 seconds without hearing his name being screeched - a sign of a toddler in his element, I assure you. It didn't end there though, there were recipes and songs too - really something for everyone, so if you're having a few friends around, there wont be anyone feeling left out if they're not into crafting or colouring.

During our play date, we cut out the bunting and coloured it in, of course Patrick had to have his favourite LaLa and Noah settled for Po, we hole punched them and threaded a string through to create a really cute decor. It was so sweet and whilst we could have gone out and bought a bunting, it was a purse friendly alternative that made the boys feel proud when they saw their work hanging above them. We sung and danced to the songs and the lyrics are included so they're is no excuses for not joining in (John did try his best ha). The great thing about the pack is you can do as much or as little as you like, and if there's an activity that they're not really getting on board with (like the finger painting for us) you can just move onto something different and there isn't that feeling of wasting your money. Toddlers are fickle and lose interest quickly so having a huge pack of varied activities works really well, I was able to give Patrick things to do whilst I got on with cutting pieces out and it meant whenever he was finished with a task, I was ready with the next piece for him to be involved with. Our favourite part of the play date was the obstacle course, we sneaked into the garden for this because the weather was on the sunnier side, and it really helped tire the boys out. It's an idea I never would have thought of myself had it not been in the pack as a suggestion, but it's something I know parents would appreciate when they receive a toddler back who's ready for bed.
