I don't know about you but I simply find the men in my life the hardest to buy for and as luck would have it, my family is male heavy. Fathers day in particular can be a tricky one, there is a lot of generic stereotypical gifts out there, but for me I find once a Dad has had their first few Fathers days, they've probably racked up enough 'No1 Dad' socks to open a shop - I like something a little different. That being said the range of gifts to buy can be vast depending what your loved one is into so it can be difficult to know where to begin. I've popped together a little guide that I think can be useful anytime you're looking to buy something for that special male in your life.
Nirvana Brewery do some amazing alcohol free and low alcohol drinks. I honestly think something like this is a must for the summer season, for those who don't drink but still want to feel included or thought of, I can't think of anything better. My other half is quite often the designated driver and having these in the fridge to be able to have one whilst he's getting ready is amazing, he's already purchased some himself along with some for his brother as he was incredibly impressed with the taste. Tom's favourite was the cloudy lemon larger, he said it was incredibly refreshing and not something he would have ordinarily reached for himself so he's thrilled that he has unexpectedly found a new favourite. Isn't that what great gifts are, something you didn't know you needed in your life but then becomes a complete staple? For me Nirvana Brewery beers are absolutely that gift. When I shared these on Instagram quite a few of my followers messaged me to let me know they'd tried them and they were delicious - they weren't wrong.*
If the man in your life is into their fitness, perhaps something to add to their sports gear collection would be up their street. It can be a harder one to navigate if you're unsure of what they may like, but personally I found Tennis HQ had an amazing range. Something from raquets to shoes and absolutely everything in between. I personally found their trainer range fantastic and I think any keen athlete would find something they love in there, they had trainers suitable for anyone from beginners through to expert level and of course they're suitable for a wide range of sport not just Tennis. Tom even gave his a test along the French coast whilst he went for a run and said 'Normally at my age I can feel it in my knees a bit when I run after a while, but not with these, they are unbelievably comfy'. I'd say that's a 10/10 rating. With something to suit every budget, it's a no brainer.*
With bbq season just around the corner as an alternative to the alcohol free beers above, what about something to jazz up any get together? Cocktail making is incredibly fun and this little set can jazz up any party or family occasion. Monin sets from Sous Chef are fantastic - we've used them ourselves in the past and they really do make such a different to any drink, these don't have to be alcoholic beverages as they do put the cherry on the top of even a mocktail or to put a fancy spin on a juice.*
A few more generic options that I think you cannot go wrong with would be;
A bag - If the man in your life is a Dad, a backpack is a really good investment. When the boys were young their Dad wouldn't have been too pleased about having to lug around my very feminine designed changing bag, so for me I think one for dad himself would be fantastic. This Adidas design is lovely, it's simple, stylish and affordable.*
Shirts - A great option for the business man, you can never have to many shirts. Though it does feel like all I wash and iron in this household, is shirts. These from Dobell are really affordable, they have a large selection on 2 for £30 which I think is fantastic value, they fit well and feel really lovely on. My other half is pretty fussy when it comes to shirts, I don't blame him if he's wearing them for 40 hours a week. But Dobell appear to be a hit so we'll definitely be snapping up some more. *
