MAKING THE MOST OF TIME WITH A NEWBORN

Time seems to pass by at an alarming pace when you have a newborn and every moment should be cherished. You want to get the most out of every single day so if you’re looking for ways to make the most out of your time, here are a few suggestions!

Have A Baby Shoot
One of the most popular must-haves for most parents is getting a baby shoot. It’s particularly popular for first-time parents. This is done when the baby is only a few months old and is styled in the cutest of ways. It’s a great way of capturing your newborn within it’s first few months, especially as they grow so quickly within the year. There are plenty of baby photographers out there that offer an array of packages depending on your budget and what you’d like. These make for some lovely memories to look back on in the future and no matter what pose they do, they will probably look adorable doing it. If you’re looking for a baby photographer, check out your local ones and go on recommendation

Slow Down
The best advice for getting the most out of a newborn is to slow down. Take your time because it’s not on your side. Relish the moments that are quiet, where it’s just you and your baby. It’s moments like these where you create and strengthen this bond. So gaze into their eyes and make sure every cuddle and feed is drawn out to its full extent. In life, we tend to rush things, and we miss out on the opportunities to create memories or to enjoy the moment. Take this as an opportunity to slow the pace down and enjoy the time spent with your baby.

Capture Memories With Film
It seems the video recording is becoming more popular now thanks to the likes of YouTube. Photographs are great but memories of your baby’s first year and beyond can often become a little hazy over time. Filming your baby is a great way of keeping these memories alive for years to come and can be passed down to your child once you’re gone. Most mobile devices have excellent cameras, so you don’t even need to spend a lot of money on a brand new camera or camcorder.

Have A Group Day Out Support is certainly appreciated when you are a new mother and hanging with other new mums can be fun. There will be plenty of opportunities to attend classes or sign up to local groups. Being with a newborn can also get quite lonely as they’re not at the age where they’re running about or gazing up at the world from their swinging chair. Some great memories can be had with other mums and this a chance for you to also get and share advice on how to look after your baby. It’s good to share your worries or concerns with others who are going through the same thing.
Music Therapy Music therapy has been known to be very beneficial in stimulating their memory and helping soothe them when they’re upset. It’s also a chance to influence their musical preference from an early age. Play different genres of music and experiment until you find the sound that relaxes them and what annoys them. This might come in handy when you are trying to send them off to sleep or to keep them occupied while you multi-task. Don’t be afraid to sing along with the music too, no matter how in tune...or out of tune you might be. Music can also be calming for yourself, so you’re hitting two birds with one stone.
Be Silly Around Them Having a baby gives you a valid and perfect excuse to talk gobbledygook and make weird and wonderful sounds both in the privacy of your own home and in public. Make faces and interact with your baby when they’re awake so that they are getting plenty of attention. Talk to your baby and have a one-sided conversation. Tell them stories even though they won’t remember them. It’s also good to do this when changing your baby as it offers a much-needed distraction.
When it comes to the first year of your baby’s life, you should make the most of every opportunity. Take your time and relish everything that comes your way. Record moments whether that’s through photography or film and don’t be afraid to have fun with your baby. Be silly with them and have no regrets!
